The division left growth stocks vulnerable to interest rate changes. The rebound in oil prices renewed inflation concerns, adding pressure to bonds during the week.

Out of four monitored equity contracts, three remained above settlement. The Dow outperformed, as the small-cap Russell 2000 contract slipped into negative territory.

WTI rose to $91.74 at 05:47 EDT, after earlier dropping to $89.60. The 2.4% swing during the session outweighed its small gain at settlement.

The increase in oil prices came after three robust sessions amid renewed clashes between the U.S. and Iran. A decline in the dollar along with lower Treasury yields provided some support for equities.
