Bahrain breaks ground on 100MW Al Dur solar plant as it chases 2035 renewables target

Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority has started construction of a 100-megawatt solar PV plant at Al Dur, aiming for completion in Q3 2026, PV Tech reported. The project will use about 135,000 panels across 830,000 square metres and connect to the national grid via a 66/11-kilovolt substation. EWA says the plant supports Bahrain’s goal of 20% renewables in the energy mix by 2035.
