Shell share price rises as buyback end nears and Venezuela gas licenses come into view
Shell shares gained 0.9% to 2,757.5 pence in early London trading Thursday as its $3.5 billion buyback neared completion ahead of fourth-quarter results. The company bought over 1 million shares across London and Amsterdam on Jan. 28 for cancellation. Brent crude closed at $68.40 a barrel Wednesday, its highest since September. Shell faces a legal fight in New York over an arbitration loss to Venture Global.
