U.S. stock index futures ticked higher late Tuesday, with investors eyeing a postponed January jobs report set for release Wednesday and an inflation readout coming Friday. By 8:11 p.m. ET, S&P 500 futures were up 0.2% to 6,978.25, Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 0.3% to 25,291.75, and Dow futures edged 0.2% higher to 50,385.

Bitcoin dipped to roughly $74,600 in early Asian trading Wednesday, deepening a steep crypto sell-off that forced many out of leveraged positions. Data from CoinGlass revealed $2.56 billion worth of bitcoin positions wiped out in the past few days. Adam McCarthy of Kaiko noted that “people [are] taking a step back while they have to reassess their risk frameworks.”

Charles Schwab stock rises after earnings; Fed decision and crypto plans come next

Shares of The Charles Schwab Corporation climbed Wednesday following a strong quarterly profit report, lifting trading-related stocks broadly. Schwab was up roughly 1.5% to $102.55 in afternoon action, after swinging between $97.10 and $104.78. Interactive Brokers jumped around 7.1%, and Robinhood added 1.2%. Both the SPDR S&P 500 ETF and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund also moved higher.
