Trump Axes 6.2GW “Vegas-Sized” Solar Farm in Nevada – Renewable Energy Industry Reels
The Bureau of Land Management on Oct. 10 listed the Esmeralda 7 solar project in Nevada as cancelled. The project would have spanned 185 square miles and generated up to 6,200 MW. The Interior Department under Secretary Doug Burgum now requires developers to submit individual proposals instead of a single review. Conservationists welcomed the move; clean-energy groups called it a setback for renewables.
