Hims & Hers Health (NYSE:HIMS) rises as FDA BPC-157 decision turns market attention to revenue per subscriber

Hims & Hers Health (NYSE:HIMS) rises as FDA BPC-157 decision turns market attention to revenue per subscriber

New York, July 23, 2026, 14:09 EDT.

  • FDA advisers voted 8 to 6 in favor of including BPC-157 on the 503A compounding list, with one abstention.
  • Hims shares rose 6.4% to $33.72 as of 1:56 p.m. EDT, after climbing over 10% earlier.
  • The initial increase in equity value corresponded to roughly 77% of revenue for the first quarter.

Shares in Hims & Hers climbed on Thursday following support from FDA advisers for expanding BPC-157 compounding. The panel’s decision may provide the telehealth company with a fresh U.S. sales opportunity.

Based on the 1:56 p.m. quote, the increase boosted equity value by about $470 million. This early estimate relies on the share count reported by the company on May 8.

The increase matched 77% of Hims’ $608.1 million revenue in the first quarter. It also represented 9.6 times the U.S. sales drop for the quarter.

Equity value and revenue serve as measures of scale rather than as predictors of profit.

The scale indicates that investors anticipate peptides will boost expenditure among current users. Hims has not provided a launch date.

Hims reported 2.58 million subscribers at the end of March, marking a 9% increase. Average monthly revenue per subscriber declined 6% to $80.

U.S. revenue declined by 8% to $529.9 million, while international sales drove a 4% increase in total revenue.

U.S. markets were trading at the dateline. The NYSE’s main trading session finishes at 4 p.m. EDT.

The panel’s advice does not carry binding authority. FDA officials are yet to determine if the 503A list should be updated.

Inclusion would not confer approval for BPC-157. Achieving full approval demands individual clinical trials and an official regulatory assessment.

A former FDA official told Reuters the rulemaking process may require as long as one year. Hims has not specified a release date.

After acquiring a manufacturing site in 2025, Hims started developing peptide treatments. This provides the company with manufacturing capabilities in the event of regulatory shifts.

Chief Medical Officer Anant Vinjamoori said that regulated supply has the potential to replace gray-market transactions. “A no vote would not end those distribution channels or use,” he stated. Reuters

FDA staff advised against approval, citing a single limited ulcerative colitis study and a lack of sufficient long-term safety data.

KPV, TB-500 and MOTS-C were scheduled for discussion on Thursday. Emideltide, Semax and epitalon are set for Friday’s agenda.

Risks are still elevated. Options data ahead of the vote suggested a 14% swing in either direction by the end of the month. The timeline for FDA decisions and patient uptake is still unclear. Safety data is limited.
