The move matters because demand is changing shape. Regulated U.S. funds and futures gained ground while market-wide leverage shrank.
XRP also beat its closest large-token peers. Solana gained 5.5%, bitcoin 4.9% and ether 4.7% by the same timestamp.

Most of the break came quickly. XRP rose from $1.3936 at 09:00 EDT to $1.4496 one hour later.
Fund flows supplied an XRP-specific tailwind. U.S. spot products took in $14.38 million on Tuesday, extending an 11-session run CoinDesk.
The streak brought in about $170 million. Cumulative net inflows reached roughly $1.68 billion since the funds launched last November.
Those purchases do not prove investors stayed unhedged. Fund disclosures show gross holdings, while futures can offset their price risk.
The derivatives data point the same way. Total XRP futures open interest fell 16% between August 17 and August 31, to 2.34 billion tokens from 2.77 billion CoinDesk analysis of CoinGlass data.

CME Group Inc.’s NASDAQ:CME XRP open interest moved the other way. It rose 36% to 387 million tokens, lifting its market share to 17% from 10%.
Positioning was not simply bullish. Leveraged funds held 892 long and 3,206 short CME contracts on August 25 CFTC data. Their net short equaled about 116 million XRP, but some contracts may hedge spot holdings.
Supply remains another constraint. About 62.74 billion XRP circulated from a 100 billion maximum, valuing the asset near $91.1 billion at 12:20 EDT CoinGecko.
The next macro test arrives Friday. The U.S. August employment report is due at 08:30 EDT Bureau of Labor Statistics calendar.
Risks: ETF flows can reverse, and futures positions can conceal hedges. A stronger jobs report could also lift rate expectations and pressure crypto prices.
The cleanest confirmation would come from two measures. Investors can watch whether fund inflows persist and CME keeps its larger share.
