Chile’s New 36MW Wind Farm to Power 16,000 Homes – Clean Energy Revolution in Araucanía?
The Cancura wind farm in Angol, Chile, is under construction with six 6 MW turbines and a new substation, aiming to generate 65,000 MWh of renewable electricity yearly. The $71 million project, led by Vientos de Renaico and backed by a $34 million CIFI loan, employs over 100 local workers and is expected to supply power to 16,000 people while cutting 27,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
