Nvidia Led S&P 500 Friday Gains With Nearly 70%, Small Caps Dropped

NVDA was behind about 0.31 percentage point of the S&P 500’s move on Friday, according to estimates, or around 70% of the total gain. Big tech, still led by the main AI play, drove the latest record run. The S&P 500 finished up 0.44% at 7,577.05. The Dow climbed 0.37% to end at 52,682.39. The Nasdaq closed 0.32% higher at 26,290.19. The Russell 2000 dropped 0.46% to 2,978.75.

But in her order, Sooknanan flagged concerns, saying courts aren’t just “a rubber stamp.” She pointed out the terms: a Musk trust puts up $1.5 million, while the SEC said Musk’s delay let him pocket $150 million.

S&P 500 gains narrow after hours as Rivian (NASDAQ:RIVN) drops, Fiserv (NASDAQ:FISV) rises

U.S. stocks climbed Monday, but futures were more muted after the bell. The S&P 500 closed up 0.72% at 7,537.43, Nasdaq added 1.12% to 26,121.16, and the Dow rose 0.29% to 53,055.91. Shares of Broadcom Inc jumped 3.7% after the company and Apple Inc extended their custom-chip agreement through 2031. Even so, S&P 500 decliners led advancers by 1.3-to-1.
