Boeing stock slides again despite Air India MAX order — what Wall Street is watching next

Boeing stock closed down 3.1% on Thursday at $234.04, and was little changed in after-hours trade, after a fresh 737 MAX order from Air India failed to shift the mood. The shares traded between $233.37 and $243.73 during the session.

Shares of Boeing slipped Thursday, erasing an early gain despite new orders from India. Around midday in New York, the stock was down 2.2% at $236.34, after closing Wednesday at $241.59. Trading volume hit roughly 3.3 million shares.

Boeing shares climbed on Friday, staying close to a recent peak into after-hours trading. Investors digested fresh remarks from the head of the U.S. aviation regulator alongside government data highlighting a recovery in major jet orders. The stock finished the regular session up 0.29% at $252.15 but slipped 0.14% in after-hours trading to $251.80.

Boeing shares slipped on Friday following a U.S. government report that flagged a jump in export-backed deals linked to the planemaker’s order book. Regulators also reiterated that crucial certification tasks remain Boeing’s responsibility. The stock dropped 0.5% to $250.11 in late morning trading.

Boeing shares closed 0.5% higher at $251.41 in late U.S. trade Thursday. Investors digested new clues on the prolonged certification process for two 737 MAX variants. During the session, the stock fluctuated between $249.82 and $254.09.
