Bitcoin slips below $89,000 as ETF withdrawals and rate jitters curb demand
Bitcoin fell below $89,000 Friday, down 0.7% to $88,725, as traders cut risk ahead of the Federal Reserve’s Jan. 27-28 meeting. U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs posted $740.9 million in net outflows over two days. Gold hit a record near $4,967 an ounce. Japanese two-year bond yields reached 1.25%, the highest since 1996.
