Category 4 Hurricane Erin Churns Off East Coast – Live Tracking, Forecast Path & Expert Warnings
Hurricane Erin, a Category 4 storm with 130 mph winds, was centered 695 miles southwest of Bermuda on Aug. 18, according to the NHC. Dare and Hyde counties in North Carolina declared emergencies and ordered evacuations as surf and rip currents threaten the U.S. East Coast. Turks and Caicos suspended services, and Bermuda activated disaster plans. Erin is forecast to stay offshore and move northeast into the Atlantic.
