SpaceX’s Moon Mission in Jeopardy as NASA Opens Artemis Contract to Rivals
NASA will reopen bidding for the Artemis III Moon-landing contract, citing delays by SpaceX, which has yet to launch a crewed Starship. Blue Origin and other rivals are expected to compete for the mission, now targeted for 2028 as the U.S. aims to land before China’s planned 2030 Moon landing. Artemis II remains on track for a 2026 launch.
