Despite over 900 audit firms operating in India, the top 10 firms audit only 38% of NSE-listed companies, revealing significant concentration. The Big Four, excluding PwC, raised audit fees by at least 25% in 2024-25. Collectively, these firms earned ₹617 crore in fees, more than 70% of the top earners' revenue. Excluding public sector banks, Big 6 and Big 4 dominance intensifies, capturing 64% and 54% of audit fees respectively, highlighting market consolidation.
