- IKEA will open an 80,000-square-foot location at Crocker Park in spring 2027.
- The location will occupy 60% to 84% less space compared to a conventional IKEA warehouse.
- U.S. e-commerce remained at a reported $1.9 billion, while FY25 sales fell.
IKEA is set to launch its first Northeast Ohio location at Crocker Park in spring 2027. The 80,000-square-foot facility will feature both a showroom, space for in-store pickup, and takeaway inventory for online orders.
The format is more significant than the address. IKEA’s move into Cleveland involves much less space compared to its traditional warehouse stores.
The project involves increasing the size of a previous 50,000-square-foot DICK’S Sporting Goods NYSE:DKS location by 60%. Conventional IKEA outlets typically range from 200,000 to 500,000 square feet.
Channel economics serve as the indicator for investors. E-commerce sales in the United States remained steady at a reported $1.9 billion in FY25. Overall sales declined to $5.3 billion from $5.5 billion.

|---|---|---|---|
| IKEA U.S. total sales | $5.5 billion, FY24 | $5.3 billion, FY25 | Declined around 3.6% |
| U.S. e-commerce sales | $1.9 billion, FY24 | $1.9 billion, FY25 | No variation at the stated level |

| Store floor area | 200,000–500,000 sq ft typical | 80,000 sq ft, Westlake | Between 60% and 84% less |

Figures related to mix are estimates, as IKEA discloses sales data in rounded figures.
The digital share increased to around 35.8%, up from 34.5%. As a result, pickup capacity becomes more important within each new location.
Westlake shoppers have access to over 3,250 products and 250 pieces of furniture to bring home. More than 5,400 items are set to be offered for online pick-up.
According to early Census data, furniture and home-furnishings store sales reached a seasonally adjusted $11.323 billion in June, holding steady compared to May levels.
Ingka Group will open 20 compact outlets in Europe and North America, as part of a 5 billion euro investment spread over three years.
Ingka CEO Juvencio Maeztu said in March that “the physical store remains at the centre of our omnichannel business.” The company states that smaller store formats reduce costs and enable quicker openings. Ingka
“Westlake is an exciting chance to reach additional customers in Northern Ohio,” said Rob Olson, chief operating officer for IKEA U.S. Renovation efforts are underway. Cleveland Magazine
U.S. markets were active, with public home-furnishing companies showing mixed performance. At approximately 10:45 a.m. EDT, Wayfair NYSE:W was down 0.9% at $93.71. Williams-Sonoma NYSE:WSM climbed 2.3%, and RH NYSE:RH advanced 1.0%.
The split does not provide an immediate same-day indication following the announcement. A single regional opening is insufficient to impact nationwide projections.
Crocker Park gains a new anchor with the addition of IKEA. The nearest full-size IKEA outlets are currently found in Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. The Westlake opening will mark IKEA’s third location in Ohio.
Risks: Spring 2027 is a goal, not a confirmed launch date. Smaller store formats might let down customers looking for the complete warehouse selection. Ingka has said it must manage expectations clearly.
The primary challenge is productivity. Westlake needs to generate higher pickup, planning, and repeat visits from a smaller footprint.
