Mega IPO Track Record Draws Scrutiny as SpaceX Eyes Public Debut
July 6, 2026, 6:29 AM EDT. Excitement has built around the prospect of a SpaceX IPO, but investors looking back at previous mega IPOs have seen mixed results. Big public offerings often see strong opening moves, then sometimes sharp swings or fades. Some analysts point to SpaceX’s push in technology and its dominant market position, though they warn valuation could get stretched. Market watchers say it’s worth remembering the lessons from big IPOs of the past, especially when hype is high. The deal may boost aerospace stocks on debut, but investors should watch for changing sentiment and not chase the story too far.

July 6, 2026, 6:27 AM EDT. SK Hynix plans a $29 billion Nasdaq debut that’s on track to be the biggest foreign listing to date. Shares in the South Korean chipmaker have climbed 770% over the past year, riding the AI wave and beating out rivals like Micron Technology. That run has helped send South Korea’s KOSPI index up 87% this year, with SK Hynix and Samsung now accounting for about half the index’s market cap. The deal will test how hungry investors still are for AI-related tech stocks as global markets stay choppy.

Trump Brings Nasdaq, NYSE to White House as Stock Trading Draws Fire
July 6, 2026, 6:15 AM EDT. Donald Trump brought the heads of Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange to the White House for a joint opening bell, marking the launch of tax-deferred “Trump Accounts” for kids. The event comes as questions mount over Trump’s own stock trading-more than 21,000 trades last year, more than any previous sitting president. Ethics experts say so much trading by an elected official raises conflict of interest concerns. Voters back a ban on lawmakers trading stocks, and the issue has stoked partisan fights over insider trading rules in Congress.

Manorama Industries NSE:MANORAMA profit jumps but share count weighs on EPS
July 6, 2026, 6:02 AM EDT. Manorama Industries posted net income up 105% from a year ago, but the boost came with a 5.9% increase in shares outstanding. The jump in shares trimmed the impact on earnings per share, which rose 104%. Analysts say EPS matters more for shareholders than net income since dilution can cut into gains. The company logged 655% net income growth, annualized, over the past three years. Still, there are questions if profit growth matches actual earnings ability. Investors should look at both earnings quality in the past and forecasts before judging the stock’s outlook.

Dividend Stocks Draw Bids as Rate Bets Shift on Soft Jobs Data
July 6, 2026, 6:00 AM EDT.Income investors are looking at high dividend yield stocks again as Fed Chair Warsh’s comments and a weak June payroll number push back rate hike odds. The Fed’s median forecast sits at 3.8%, and traders now see a 54% chance for a September move. That has defensive groups back in focus. Picks like Village Super Market (VLGE.A) and Genie Energy (GNE) offer steady payouts and exposure to staples and energy, a mix some see as a safer play now. Village Super Market needs outside financing and has seen insider sales, which is a flag for some. Still, softer labor readings and changing Fed signals are pushing income-driven investors back toward dividends.

Analysts Question Disney Parks Spinoff After Comcast's NBCUniversal Move
July 6, 2026, 5:57 AM EDT. Walt Disney shares have lagged over the past decade in a tough market for media names and amid leadership turnover. After Comcast moved to spin off NBCUniversal, some analysts are talking about whether Disney could revive its stock by separating the Parks & Experiences division. But Disney’s business is more blended – content and parks feed off each other, going back to Walt Disney’s original playbook. That’s a split Comcast doesn’t have with NBCUniversal. Disney is still dealing with streaming and content problems, and a parks spinoff could risk more selling by investors rather than create value. Core pressure remains at Disney’s entertainment and ESPN units as viewing habits keep changing and competitors weigh.

Carmen Lee, OCBC equity research head, said new IPOs now need a bigger valuation discount or a standout growth angle as existing SGX stocks have already rerated. OCBC still expects a broader mix of IPOs in H2 2026, with more interest in overseas deals boosting the market. The bank stays overweight on Singapore stocks, calling them defensive and well-priced in a shaky global backdrop.

Sandisk Jumps 5% Premarket but Still Down After $42.5B Selloff

July 6, 2026, 5:54 AM EDT. Sandisk shares climbed 5.33% to $1,838 in Monday’s premarket after last week’s $42.5 billion loss in market value, but the stock is still off 14.13% from July 2’s $1,745 close. That bounce recovers $13.8 billion before the U.S. open, leaving about $28.8 billion yet to make up. The company is caught in a supply-demand mess after starting 10th-gen 3D NAND flash output with Kioxia at the Kitakami Plant in Japan. Bank of America sees NAND supply staying tight until 2027 even with more production. Analysts are split and trading is choppy. Shares moved up roughly 2% after the split, a fairly common reaction when lower prices attract more buyers. The stock is up 66% this year, driven by 26% revenue growth to $1.39 billion, net income swinging to $28 million, and annual recurring revenue up 32%. The company lifted its 2027 outlook. Still, the stock looks expensive, with a trailing P/E of 401 and a forward P/E of 39. Analysts say to watch for pullbacks after the split bump. 1 Value Stock Worth Buying, 2 to Steer Clear Of on Fundamentals
July 6, 2026, 5:45 AM EDT. Value stocks can look cheap, but some are value traps instead of bargains. PROG Holdings (NYSE:PRG) and Archer-Daniels-Midland NYSE:ADM both carry low forward P/E ratios-9.9x and 14.5x-but we see reasons to sell. PROG’s tangible book value per share fell 62.4% a year over five years, and ADM’s sales slide by 7.5% a year with just a 6.3% gross margin. Both have stagnant sales and thin profitability. TD SYNNEX (NYSE:SNX) is the exception, trading at 14.1x forward P/E with a global reach in tech product distribution. For value, investors should look past the low P/E numbers and check the fundamentals.

Nasdaq Futures Up as Chips Lose Steam, OPEC+ to Raise Supply

July 6, 2026, 5:09 AM EDT. Nasdaq futures added 1.06% early Monday, leading Dow and S&P 500 futures heading into Wall Street’s first session after the holiday. The Dow hit a record last week, but the Nasdaq dropped 0.8% as the Philadelphia semiconductor index slid 5.4%. That points to possible rotation out of chip names after their run. Oil dipped after OPEC+ said it will lift August supply by 188,000 barrels a day, cooling some inflation worries. Traders are watching the Fed, with futures showing a 78% chance policy stays unchanged at the July 29 meeting. Earnings and margin reports-especially in AI chips and airlines-are on investors’ radar as trading shifts.

MP Materials Drops 13.4% in June as China Adds It to Export-Control List; Magnet Production Now in Focus

July 6, 2026, 5:08 AM EDT. MP Materials shares slid 13.4% in June after being put on China’s export-control list. The move came even as the company reported zero Q1 2026 revenue from rare-earth concentrate. Instead, revenue from NdPr oxide and metal soared 192% to $71.1 million, as MP moved away from selling concentrate. Now, investors are watching for possible export-control impacts on equipment and parts, and whether that slows MP’s U.S. magnet production plans. MP’s market cap is about $9.49 billion, backed by U.S. government support aimed at boosting rare-earth supply for defense and manufacturing.

July 6, 2026, 5:07 AM EDT. SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) has retired 609 Starlink satellites, about 5.7% of its fleet, according to an FCC filing detailing increased end-of-life costs. The company says 260 satellites will burn up from December 2025 through May 2026, with another 349 scheduled to exit. SpaceX’s focus on regular satellite replacement brings higher spending, pressuring its outlook. The stock is joining the Nasdaq 100 on July 7, which will mean $4.3 billion in passive flows coming in, even as shorts have climbed to 31% of available shares and valuation fears swirl. Pre-market, SpaceX is around $162, while it’s reportedly heading for a $4.9 billion loss next year and trades at a valuation way above Nvidia and other peers.

July 6, 2026, 5:06 AM EDT. NVIDIA (NVDA) ended at $194.83, now closing in on $200 a share. That price would add roughly $126 billion in market value, bringing it near $4.75 trillion. SpaceX Set for Nasdaq-100; Funds May Snap Up Shares, but History Points to Only Brief Lift
July 6, 2026, 4:57 AM EDT. Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) is set to join the Nasdaq-100 index 15 trading days after its record-shattering IPO on June 12. The move means index funds like the $481 billion Invesco QQQ ETF will have to buy as much as $7 billion of SpaceX stock. With just 281.2 million shares available for trading, demand will run high. Still, the past shows that price pops after index inclusions usually don’t last. Investors tend to buy ahead of the addition, pushing prices up, then sell into the event, which often triggers a drop. So while SpaceX could see a quick bump when it joins the Nasdaq-100 on July 7, history says it probably won’t stick.

The stock’s current P/E of 29.9x is above the group, leaving little room for negative surprises if growth wobbles.
