NEW YORK, August 3, 2026, 05:09 EDT
- Shares signaled at $7.11 ahead of the open, a rise of 19.9% compared to Friday’s closing price.
- Robot sales and shipments for July totaled 152, bringing the year-to-date figure to 394.
- Initial calculations indicate 321 units per month are needed through December to achieve 2,000.
Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. NASDAQ:FFAI climbed significantly ahead of Monday’s regular trading. The surge came after its robotics arm posted a record July. Achieving the yearly goal will still require a monthly rate more than double that reached in July.
Faraday has recorded a total of 394 robot sales and shipments as of July, representing 19.7% of its 2,000-unit shipment target. This leaves 1,606 units remaining to be shipped between August and December.
An initial calculation suggests a rate of 321 units per month, 2.1 times higher than the July record of 152. However, the comparison is not exact. Faraday’s figure includes both sales and shipments, while the target only counts shipments.
| 2026 robotics pace | Units | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| July high | 152 | 7.6% of target |
| Total for January-July | 394 | 19.7% of target |
| Required from August-December | 1,606 | 80.3% of target |
| Average needed per month | 321 | 2.1 times July |
At 05:09 EDT, Nasdaq’s regular session had not begun. Premarket activity was ongoing. An indicative quote at 04:57 put the price at $7.11, a 19.9% increase. The official close on Friday was $5.93.
Shares advanced 10.8% on Friday after jumping 15.8% on Thursday. Despite those gains, the stock finished 8.6% under its closing level on July 24. On Friday, the share price ranged from $4.915 to $9.30.
| Trading point | Price | Change | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 24 close | $6.49 | -39.7% | 1.11 million |
| July 27 close | $5.12 | -21.1% | 1.02 million |
| July 30 close | $5.35 | +15.8% | 3.04 million |

Trading was highly active following a 1-for-150 reverse split. Faraday projected 2.56 million Class A shares outstanding right after the split. Volume on Friday was 3.8 times greater than that number of shares.
This does not indicate that there have been four distinct changes in shareholders. Shares may be exchanged multiple times. However, a limited equity base can amplify the impact of news. Early estimates place the company’s market capitalization at roughly $15.2 million on Friday.
Global CEO YT Jia reported that the unit posted “sales and shipments of 152 units.” He described July as “another monthly record.” The update did not disclose July robotics revenue or a date for the conference. Business Wire
The revision referenced the FCC’s July 28 move regarding the Covered List. Most newly developed advanced robots from overseas are now ineligible for new FCC authorizations. Previously cleared models remain eligible for import, sale, and use.
Faraday states that its existing robot range already meets necessary FCC certifications. The company aims to increase U.S. localization on upcoming products. The regulation could support positioning efforts but does not demonstrate customer interest.
The financial base is still limited. Revenue for the first quarter totaled $512,000, with $288,000 contributed by robotics. Gross profit from robotics stood at $144,000. The group’s operating cash outflow amounted to $31.5 million.
| First-quarter metric, $ millions | 2026 | 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 0.512 | 0.316 | up 62% |
| Operating loss | 35.905 | 43.831 | decreased 18% |
| Operating cash outflow | 31.472 | 20.295 | increased 55% |
| Robotics gross profit | 0.144 | — | introduced |
The quarterly cash outflow represented 2.1 times the preliminary equity value as of Friday. This is an approximate comparison since the number of shares might have fluctuated. Nevertheless, it highlights the significant funding required to meet the production goal.
Looking past this week, the next announced formal catalyst is a shareholder meeting scheduled for August 12. At the meeting, investors are set to vote on shares associated with $25 million in senior convertible notes. If fully converted, these notes would represent more than 20% of the outstanding shares at the time the agreement was made.
Risks: As of March 31, Faraday reported $12.2 million in unrestricted cash against $76 million in negative working capital. Management maintained that there is still “substantial doubt” about the company’s ability to remain in business. In addition, the company depends on a single OEM for the bulk of its robot products. Monday’s surge reflects expectations of quicker robotics expansion. The upcoming test lies in the monthly growth rate. Shipments need to approach 321 units, while avoiding a similar increase in cash burn or shareholder dilution.
