Intel stock jumps 8% on CES 2026 18A chip debut as INTC investors eye the next catalyst
Intel shares rose 8.3% to $43.37 Wednesday after unveiling laptop chips built on its new 18A process at CES in Las Vegas. The company said preorders for laptops using the chips start Jan. 6, with shipments beginning Jan. 27. Melius Research upgraded Intel to “buy” and set a $50 target. Intel outperformed rivals as the iShares Semiconductor ETF fell 1.2% and AMD dropped 2.3%.
