    July 7, 2026, 11:09 AM EDT. Wheat futures started Tuesday mixed. SRW contracts gained, while KC Hard Red Winter wheat slipped. On Monday, wheat moved higher despite weak U.S. export inspections, helped by action in corn and soybeans. Export inspections for the week dropped 66% to 133,652 metric tons, down 74% from a year ago. Managed money cut net shorts in CBOT wheat by 2,176 contracts; KC speculators turned net long. The winter wheat harvest is now 59% finished, running ahead of the average. Crop conditions were steady. July CBOT wheat finished at $6.06, up 15.5 cents. The market is watching export demand with global supply still in focus.
