Egypt received $3.5 billion from Qatar for a Mediterranean coast real estate and tourism project, the cabinet said Tuesday. The payment is part of Doha’s $7.5 billion investment pledge and follows a partnership signed in November for the Alam Al-Roum development. Egypt’s finance minister said the funds are fresh foreign direct investment aimed at easing debt.
