The Real State of Internet in Belarus: Wired, Wireless, and Watching from the Sky
By early 2023, 86.9% of Belarusians—about 8.27 million people—were online. As of April 2024, 4G LTE covered 93% of the country and 99% of the population. Over 10,000 websites were blocked by end-2022, with at least 2,000 more in 2023. Belarus has no commercial 5G service, with only pilot tests in Minsk and rollout uncertain due to sanctions.
