Saudi Arabia’s Drone Laws in 2025: Strict Rules, New Updates & How They Compare Globally
Saudi Arabia requires all drones over 250 grams to be registered with GACA and marked with a unique ID. Pilots must hold a GACA Remote Pilot Certificate, be at least 18, and pass an aeronautical test. Flights are limited to 120 meters altitude, daytime or twilight, and must avoid airports, crowds, and restricted sites. In 2024, GACA fined 15 operators SAR 75,000 for violations.
