USDA Doubles Disaster Aid Payments: Farmers Now Have Until August to Claim SDRP Relief
USDA doubled the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program payment factor to 70%, triggering a second payment for approved producers and extending the application deadline to Aug. 12 from April 30. The agency said $6.7 billion has already been paid out under the program. The move comes as farmers face spring planting and credit pressure. Eligible producers affected by 2023 and 2024 natural disasters can now apply for increased aid.
