T-Mobile and SpaceX will enable third-party app data, including WhatsApp and Google, over their direct-to-cell satellite network starting 1 October 2025, following the SMS/MMS launch on 23 July. The network covers 500,000 square miles in the U.S. with 657 operational satellites. FCC approved the service in November 2024. Access is included in T-Mobile’s premium plan or available for $10 per month.
