Germany Switches On Arrow 3 Missile Shield at Holzdorf – What the 3 December Milestone Means for Europe
Germany declared the initial operational capability of its first Arrow 3 missile defense battery at Holzdorf air base on December 3, 2025. Arrow 3, developed by Israel and the U.S., is Europe’s first exo-atmospheric ballistic missile interceptor. The system can engage threats over 2,000 kilometers away. Two more Arrow 3 sites are planned in northern Germany and Bavaria by 2030.
